MAC Objects Of Affection // Gold + Beige Pigments + Glitter // Review & Swatches

Deep Brown, Lithe, Pretty It Up, Gold, English Gilt
How beautiful? MAC know how to do beautiful! They are such wearable neutral pigments and so much easier to use then I thought they would be. They blend out so easy and are so much more buildable than their pressed eye shadows.
Deep Brown is a smooth, milk chocolate shade, it's such a nice everyday shade lightly blended in the outer corner with a natural skin shade over the lid or a white shade e.g. MAC's Blanc Type or Naked 3's Strange. Or even Lithe in the corner, opens the eyes up.
Lithe is a very nice light (almost transparent) champagne highlight with lots of sparkle, its also good at making any normal eye shadow a glittery eye shadow.
Pretty It Up is a gun metal shade that looks a lot more silver/grey in the packaging than on the skin, blended out it looks like it has background hues of bronze and dark brown, again very sparkly.
Gold is a basic gold, small (it's not ultra fine nor is it big) sized glitter. I've not yet mastered application of this glitter it's very messy and falls down off the eyes quickly and is hard to get off my face after. I've tried a few eye shadow primers Urban Decay's Primer Potion is excellent for normal pigments but it was to dry to stick glitter to it, so I've tried Benefit's Stay don't Stray which for normal eye shadows it creases quicker but for glitter because its wetter and little more runny, the glitter sticks to it better and it looks less sparse. If you know any good tricks to get glitter to stick let me know.
English Gilt a light pearly gold, it's like Stila's Kitten, a very classic shade.
It takes so little of the powder for it to be fully pigmented, they will last very long.
By far my favourite eye products, what's yours? Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years,
Emma xox

  1. The first three pigments you've swatched look stunning, I really want to get into mac pigments, but the fact that they're loose puts me off, they just seem very messy.

    1. The gold glitter defiantly is messy to apply but the pigments are fine, just know a little goes a long way. Emma x
