Stila In The Know Eye Shadow Palette // Review & Swatches
Ah the new obsession in my life! I'm all over matte eye shadows at the moment, I feel like they're a little more mature and day time appropriate than shimmers and glitters, and this palette has 10 beautiful shades of matte eye shadows along with a matte eye liner. The shadows are all neutral and element/earth based shades making them easy to wear day or night, also because they're all warm based shades and browns and oranges it makes this palette perfect for fall/autumn.
The formula of the shades is very soft, well pigmented but not to heavy making them easy to blend and build up from lighter to darker, they also don't crease so it looks fresh all day. However its harder to make harsh lines, if you were to try and have crisp edges, as they blend so easy. They have an almost creamy texture, utterly gorgeous! If your ever in boots just swatch them on your hand and feel how smooth they feel to apply.
Air, a chalky white shade, its very light and a little transparent so a few coats makes it a nice strong base shade for the lid or highlight for the tear duct or eyebrow bone. In the pan it looks like a dull off white but applied its much more of a clean white.
Wind much like air it has a chalky sense to it but is a light pink, much like a McDonalds strawberry milkshake sort of shade. Again a very nice lid base shade.
Desert is honestly well named as the shade is much like sand in the sense its a very light shade of brown and tan mixed together. One of my favourite shades from the palette as its not a very common neutral colour, which surprises me a little.
Clay, another favourite, it a muddy pink; a pink based shade with brown hues.
Earth, a dark brown shade much like dirt or dark chocolate.
Driftwood is a dark brown with hues of grey which in an odd way lighten it up ever so slightly, when compared it is very similar to earth.
Fire a light auburn shade defiantly orange based, its much like a darkened orange.
Rain a slightly mauve brown shade.
Smoke a creamy grey with a navy background.
Ebony a navy based black.
Smudge stick in Halfmoon, a navy/grey (like a darker version of smoke).
For £25 the palette is fall perfection, might treat my self to one of the other stila palettes, let me know which ones best.
